JACOB M. LEBOWITZ, Esq.
Jacob (“Jake”) Lebowitz, a founding partner of Posey Lebowitz, serves the legal needs of individuals and businesses in complex litigation to resolve clients’ legal issues, in personal injury claims to recover money for injuries or wrongful death, and through strategic legal advice to support clients’ business objectives.
Mr. Lebowitz focuses his practice on civil litigation, helping obtain compensation for individuals who have been injured by the intentional or negligent misconduct of others. He has extensive experience in this complex area of the law, ranging from wrongful death, catastrophic injury, and civil rights violations, to automobile accidents and premises liability cases. Additionally, he has handled numerous serious and complicated medical malpractice cases.
Mr. Lebowitz is an accomplished trial lawyer with favorable jury verdicts in state and federal courts in D.C., Virginia and Maryland. He also successfully argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in Sibert-Dean v. WMATA, No. 11-7158, which affirmed a new standard for negligence per se in the District of Columbia.
Mr. Lebowitz is also a seasoned mediator and arbitrator. He maintains an active private mediation practice and also serves as a mediator at the D.C. Superior Court Multi-Door Dispute Resolution Division. In that capacity he has served as a third-party neutral, helping parties resolve their civil disputes efficiently and by agreement, avoiding the time and expense of protracted litigation.
Mr. Lebowitz graduated cum laude from Cornell Law School, where he won a number of awards for scholarship and public service. After graduation, Mr. Lebowitz served as a law clerk to the High Court of American Samoa, where he also coached high school football and mentored local youth. Mr. Lebowitz has been admitted to practice in D.C., Maryland and New York.

RYAN C. POSEY Esq.
Ryan C. Posey, Esq., is an experienced commercial and personal injury litigator, and was recently named a 2014 Washington DC Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine. Mr. Posey has litigated matters in federal and state courts around the country pertaining to Personal Injury, Contracts and Commercial Disputes, Real Estate Investment, Civil Rights, Wrongful Death, Products Liability, and Copyright and Intellectual Property Licensing. Mr. Posey has acted as lead counsel, co-counsel, and local counsel for businesses, individuals, and firms around the country and internationally.
Before moving to Washington, D.C., Mr. Posey practiced law at Goodwin Procter LLP in Boston, Massachusetts in the Commercial Litigation department.

Harvard Law School
Mr. Posey graduated from Harvard Law School While in law school, Mr. Posey was a staff editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology, as well as Director of Training of the Harvard Prison Legal Assistance Project. As part of the Harvard Prison Legal Assistance Project, Mr. Posey represented indigent inmates in disciplinary and parole hearings.
Stockholm University
In addition to his juris doctorate degree, Mr. Posey obtained an LL.M. in international arbitration law in at Stockholm University in Sweden. Mr. Posey coached Stockholm University’s team at the Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria.
Florida State University
Mr. Posey graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University, where he majored in Political Science and English, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. Mr. Posey volunteered his time with youth reading programs and was a member of the quizbowl team.
